Navigation

Web Design is about clear communication. Before I work on the visual design of your website, we will discuss the aims of the site and what your existing and potential customers are looking for. I can then create a 'webmap' outlining the architecture of the site and how each page is located within the site. This ensures the site is as easy as possible to navigate around and full of the information your clients want.

Structure

You might be looking for a website which simply gives information about your company, product or service, In which case a simple website, updated occasionally by you or me is the right route. Alternatively, you may want a site which you and your colleagues can access and update regularly - in this case a content management system (CMS) website is probably the right option for you - perhaps a Joomla template design and build.

I've designed many sites from simple online brochures, up to online catalogues selling hundreds of products.

Call me to discuss your site and we can decide on the right style of website for you.

Design

Once the structure and navigation have been decided on, it's time to start getting creative! By now, I've got a pretty good idea of how your site will work, so I start to design some layout ideas for your feedback. These then get shortlisted and developed into the final design template.

Build

Once the design is agreed and the template has been designed, it is time to start building the sections pages and menus.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

There are many ways of making sure your site appears in high up in the search results. I build in all the elements that maximise your site for organic search engine optimisation (SEO) and also help you to write great text for both visitor and SEO viewing!

I can also advise you on how to set up pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns (like Google adwords) if you're looking for instant SEO results.

Content

The last stage of the build is adding all the text and imagery into the pages. Depending on how techie you are, either I can do this or you can! If you want to add your own content, I can advise on the best way to write for SEO.

Analytics

Once the site is live, I can set up google analytics, so you can learn more about your site visitor numbers

Training

Generally, my clients get me to add the content and then we arrange some email or telephone training to go through using the CMS, so they can update the pages themselves.

Ongoing maintenance

Sometimes there may be things you want to change on the site that you don't feel comfortable doing yourself, I can always make the changes for you at my usual hourly rate.
